10-Year-Old Boy Dies Of Self-Inflicted Gun Shot

boy_shotCHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a 10-year-old boy who attended Providence Day School died after a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened Wednesday morning at a home in the 4600 block of Connecting Road near South Boulevard in Charlotte.

CMPD said that the father and 12-year-old sister were at home during the time of the shooting. The father was in the shower during the shooting.

The boy shot himself in the head, according to the source.

Police are on the scene investigating, but have not released anymore details in the incident.
