Father and Son shooting in Mt. Holly

The Mount Holly Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent a father and son to the hospital Saturday night. The shooting occurred on Sella Ridge Drive in Mount Holly shortly before 9 p.m. Officials said both father and son were in an argument over the gun when a round went off.

The police say the father was struck in the torso, and the son was struck in the upper leg. Officials have determined that both were struck with the same bullet.

Officials said they’re investigating the incident and trying to determine who pulled the trigger. Officials said the case would be presented to the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office in reference to charges. Both the father and son were sent to the hospital with non life threatening injuries and appear to be in good condition, according to Mount Holly Police.
