3 In Car Crash Being Questioned In Morning Bank Robbery

Crime scene tapeCHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are questioning three people in connection with an east Charlotte bank robbery Monday morning that ended with a car crash nearby.

Police say a Bank of America branch, on Albemarle Road, was robbed a short time after 9 a.m.

According to police, a car fitting the description of the getaway vehicle was spotted later on Albemarle Road. The vehicle then turned onto Lawyers Road, but it crashed a short distance away. The vehicle ended up in a front yard on Rolling Oak Lane, off Lawyers Road. Police took three people into custody for questioning.

There is no word on any injuries, either during the robbery or during the crash.
