A man and a woman were arrested on Tuesday in connection with prostitution charges.
Penny Ann Mitchem, 50, of Crouse was allegedly seen bottomless behind the Super Ten Store on Linwood Road in Gastonia, police said. She had been trying to prostitute herself, arrest warrants show.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m.
Aurelio Marin-Salguero, 51, of Gastonia, was with Mitchem and was reportedly participating in the exchange. He was charged with soliciting prostitution and wasn’t assigned bond due to questions about his immigration status.
Mitchem, 50, has been charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure and misdemeanor prostitution and was released on an unsecured bond. She was also picked up during during a prostitution sting last week in Gastonia where 12 arrests were made.
