2 Arrested In Gastonia Convenience Store Break In

GASTONIA, N.C. – Gaston County police have made two arrests after an early-morning break-in Tuesday at a convenience store.

A man was caught on video surveillance taking tobacco products and scratch-off lottery tickets from the Kingsway Store on Chapel Grove School Road in Gastonia.  That man was later identified as 41-year old Charles Truett.  He was picked up by Gaston County police.

Police also arrested Truett’s girlfriend, 28-year-old Dawn Elizabeth Green.  The surveillance footage showed Green with Truett in the parking lot of the store just before he broke into the store through the roof.

Truett and Green have both been charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, and one charge of larceny, according to police and jail records.

They are both in custody at the Gaston County Detention Center this morning.

Mr. Truett, who was in trouble with the law earlier this year, is being held under $56,000 bond.  Ms. Green is being held on $2,500.
