2 Charlotte Area Bank Robberies 30 Minutes Apart, Not Related

Police LightsTROUTMAN, N.C. – A second bank was robbed in the Charlotte area on Monday morning just 30 minutes after the morning’s first robbery.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said the Bank Of America on North Main Street in Troutman was robbed by two men with guns around 9:30 a.m.

No shots were fired but the two men were able to escape in a grey car, according to investigators.

Authorities are searching for the suspects.  The grey car was last seen heading northbound on Highway 21.

This robbery happened about 20 minutes after a Bank of America on Albemarle Road in Charlotte was robbed. There is no connection to the robberies, according to police.

There are no reported injuries during the robbery in Troutman.
