2 Charlotte Men Arrested for Pawn Shop Break-in

CIC Default Crime Scene TapePolice arrested two Charlotte men in a pawn shop break-in in Mount Holly that ended in a standoff at the business.

The incident began about 4:30 a.m. at Mount Holly Gun and Pawn on East Henry Street. Jaah’kii Qu’ran Harris, 23, was arrested soon after, but it required federal, state, and local police officers and family members on the telephone to get Trey Alonzo Davis, 23, to come out of the shop.

A bomb squad and SWAT team were also called to the scene. Davis eventually surrendered. There were no injuries.

Harris and Davis are convicted felons and each have a history of breaking and entering.

For this crime, Davis has been charged with attempted felony larceny, felony breaking and entering, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit felony breaking and entering, possession of a firearm by a felon, and several failures to appear in court in Mecklenburg County. He has been to prison four times before for charges including burglary, habitual breaking and entering, breaking into motor vehicles, possessing stolen goods, and communicating threats. He was jail on a $284,000 secured bond.

Harris is charged with breaking and entering, possession of a firearm by a felon, and larceny after breaking and entering for stealing a rifle and a tray of jewelry. He has been previously convicted of possessing stolen goods and felony breaking and entering. He was jailed on a $75,000 bond.
