2 Injured, 1 Dead After Shooting In North Charlotte

shooting targetCHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person has died and two more have been taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds from two separate scenes near uptown Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police confirm that one person was pronounced dead at the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds in Wednesday afternoon’s shooting in the 400 block of Sylvania Avenue. He’s been identified as Charles Anthony Jefferson, 54.

At the second scene, in the 1600 block of North Graham Street, MEDIC says they’ve transported one patient with life threatening injuries, also as a result of gunshot wounds.

Police say the third victim was also shot at the Sylvania scene.  That patient has non-life threatening injuries, officials say, and was taken to Novant Health.

CMPD investigators said all of the men involved knew each other.

They are searching for clues at a home on Sylvania Avenue where police said four people got into an argument.

One of those men fired several rounds at three victims, killing one of them.

Police have not released a description of the shooter and so far no one has been arrested.
