17 Year Old Arrested in Davis Murder

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged 17 year old A.J. McMullen with murder in the shooting death of Harding High athlete Travis Davis. McMullen was arrested today and police are expected to release more information soon.

It was not immediately clear whether McMullen is a student or whether he knew Davis. I checked McMullen's record and saw that he was arrested on February 22, 2006 on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, driving without a license and hit and run.

Davis, a football player and wrestler at Harding, was killed Sunday night as he waited for a bus in west Charlotte. Police had said he might have been shot during a robbery attempt.

First of all I would like to say that I really didn't know Travis that well. I graduated from Harding on 2005 and as soon as I hearn the name Travis I automatically put his face with that name. Never have I spoke one word to this young man but from the way others talked about him I knew he was someone who made a difference in so many peoples lives. To AJ McMullen how could you have the nerve to take someone else's life away. Regardless of what the situation at hand was it should have never lead to something like this. You have took away someones son, brother, nephew, friend, and boyfriend and now you have to sit in prison for the rest of your life and think about what you did. Now that its all over and done I bet you wish that you never did this. But you must think before you act and now you have to face the consequences for a stupid mistake that you made.
RIP Travis Davis
You are truely missed
