Dennis Gross, 64, was arrested last Friday at the Rose Vine Place Apartments. He is charged with maintaining a dwelling to keep cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.According to the search warrant, police visited Gross' apartment located at 4511 Rose Vine Place in response to a Crime Stoppers tip. Dennis Gross allowed the officer to enter the apartment to discuss the drug complaint.
When the officer entered the apartment, he immediately saw a clear plastic baggie containing a white powder substance. He then observed plastic sandwich bags with the bottom corners cut off. This is typically how drug dealers package the 'goods' for sale.
The officer asked Gross if he could search his apartment and he denied consent. Police secured the apartment; including Gross and a woman present in the apartment, named Vicki Hunter. Police obtained a search warrant to search the apartment. Gross was arrested.
Dennis Gross does not have any prior drug charges. He was arrested twice for driving under the influence. Once in 2000 and again in 2001. He was given probation.

Now that's a mugshot.
many of these senior citizens let the vermin use their apartments, for a price or sexual favors (heaven forbid in this case), to stash or sell drugs.
Is it possible to check from time to time some apartments with dogs?
The good police dogs are able to sniff literally molecules of the drugs from the very long distance, and this procedure does not require any permission to go inside.
A cop could be undercover, and looks like a pet owner.
If somebody minds, just look at this face found today in crimeincharlotte.com blog:

This is the face of METH ADDICT!!
Rotten skin, flesh -- awful thing...UNCURABLE drug.
There is very good documentary about this most dangerous drug "of the future" (cheap, very strong, very additictive).
In some point, long ago this somehow in the past very attractive and innocent (not yet prostitute) woman had not been very well informed about consequences when she had very short experiment with this dangerous substance, and consumed it "just for fun" and "never again" during one of the parties.
Where is she now?
The documentary of meth has to be available to each family in our big city. It's real.
The main source of supplies is from Mexico, and this substance MUCH MORE DANGEROUS than cocaine, heroine, and what not.
FYI.......You can not use a police dog without probable cause. To search at random is a violation of " a reasonable expectation of privacy" per the Supreme Court. I wish it was that easy but law enforcement has stict rules where the crooks have non.
