Charlotte Teens on MySpace

If you have children, I hope you make it a habit to check out his or her MySpace page. It always amazes me what teenagers post in public view. All of the following photos are from Charlotte teenager's MySpace pages. Enjoy the show! - More Info & Photos -

Where are the parents???? These young kids could be future doctors, lawyers, chemists, etc with the right guidance. What a shame that these kids see shows that promote violence and listen to gangsta lyrics to encourage these acts.

I totally disagree with the above blog. These kids will NEVER amount to anything except criminals, which my guess is that several of them already are. The best they can count on is a clean prison cell, if they can make it there alive.

Future doctors? That is almost as pathetic as the people in these pictures. These ignorant people are a product of their subculture, a subculture that accepts them for being ignorant and devaluing everything that would make them successful. I just hope the appropriate resources are being allocated towards processing them into the system where they belong on a permanent basis. It would take but one vigilante to save Charlotte tax payers a lifetime of fees to process these people that will NEVER amount to anything. I pray they will be killed before killing anyone that matters.

ALL good citizens should get a gun permit AND know how to use it!

I have never owned a handgun. After living here for awhile, I see that I need to buy one, and learn to use it properly.

It's people like the "invasion of privacy" dude who think the Internet is a private space that keeps these people on the street. It's the one who refers to them as future doctors that patronize them while they infect our community.

What I don't understand is why one guy with a blog can go find these people on MySpace, yet law enforcement with their resources cannot or they ignore the fact that in at least several of the instances, the thug himself has actually provided law enforcement with pictorial evidence to get a search warrant and bust him.

Pictures of felons with guns, those on probation or parole with guns, certain comments on the website or showing their drugs are adequate reasonable suspicion. Evidence found on their computer could break major crime rings and deal some serious blow to gang activity. How hard is this?

Invasion of Privacy? Haaaaahaaaa haaa!!! Get a clue!

The whole idea of their posting this garbage is to be as public as possible!!

I have got to move away from this place - not because of the kids on my space but because of their ignorant close-minded parents who advocate throwing everyone in jail. The bible belt has already choked the life out of me -

By the way, as a mentor I have turned around the lives of children - so sorry for not being as jaded as you lovely so-called Christians (pretty sure you all belong to a church) - that's all you seem to talk about. Anyway, good luck with the hypocrisy!

Dear Somebody that Matters:

Your efforts at mentoring are commendable.

It would be nice if we could forget about that whole "Jail" thing. Unfortunately, while you're mentoring that child you spoke of, three others are doing a home invasion down the street.

In a perfect world, we could wish this away, but we can't and we don't have time to wait for all of the absentee parents and/or mentors to get control of these children.

By the way, I'm not a Bible thumper, I just want to see the crime rate come down to a reasonable level.

That slide show is horrifying, but what's worse is that it focuses on young, black males -- as if young, black males were Charlotte's only "real" problem, and that criminal, idiot teenagers don't exist across racial boundaries. A couple of white guys with guns and one black girl -- but where's the slide-show of all the drunk 14, 15, 16 year old girls? The upper-middle-class teens of suburbia who sure as shit are talking somewhere online about drugs and sex -- just as unbeknownst to their parents as to the parents of these young men?

That slide show gives a criminally false sense of security by concentrating on and reinforcing the racial status quo. People see images of which they're familiar with being afraid, and don't see images to confirm that bad shit is happening in "their world," too.

Especially on the heels of recent news stories concerning underage girls being solicited on MySpace by older men, something like this blatantly addresses the feelings of bigotry and entitlement of the millions of white, upper-middle class parents who see this as one more reason why their children don't need the same kind of supervision as young, black males or any other group from a different socio-economic bracket.

Anon,

I challenge you to spend the hours upon hours searching Charlotte teen MySpace pages as I did and find more white teenagers posting guns. Maybe you can do better than I did but I doubt it.

I am sure we are all aware ALL races have teenagers who are criminals. However, the other races are not posting this stuff on MySpace, therefore, you don't see them on the MySpace slideshow.

I think you should take the time to look at some of these MySpace pages before you tell me I should post all the races with the sex and booze talk. I would have to work on that for weeks because there are so many! If you would like to take your time and create one, I would be more than happy to post it.

I do not create any false sense of security... I present the facts and the reality is young black males are committing the more serious crime in Charlotte. I cannot mask these figures like the media does because truth is power.

Underage drinking is a problem across all socio-economic brackets. I don’t know about you, but I certainly did not wait until I was 21 to drink. Where I grew up, bars would not allow you inside after 10pm unless you were 21. I truly think allowing underage kids in a bar/club with only an ‘X’ on the hand is asking for trouble. Does a coke or a whiskey & coke look any different? Not really.

I look forward to seeing your slideshow!
