Henry Miller is a homeless drunk who can usually be found in the idlewwild/independence area .
I've worked in that area for about 10 years and he has been a permanent fixture there for as long as i can remember.
I would almost think that a trip to jail is almost a vacation for him. he gets fed, showered, ect. for a small period of time before he goes right back out the door til his next go around.
The problem of homelessness is a bad one, but in situations like this its easy to see the problem . Here we have an alcoholic homeless man who ,although he is in need of treatment ,will not except it. It seems as though the man is stuck in a vicious cycle of that he doesn't really desire to set free from.
The problem then becomes, what do we do with people like this. Although he is a human being, He is basically a burdon on society. Wwhether he is in jail, panhandling at the intersection of idlewild/independence, or lying drunk in his own pool of his own urine and vomit on the sidewalks in front of the local businesses in that area.
