Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have three suspects in custody after a shooting that occurred as the suspects were leaving the parking lot of the Bahama Mama nightclub on Independence Blvd. The shooting occurred around 12:50 this morning. No police officers or bystanders were injured during the incident.Police say four CMPD police officers were working off-duty at the business park adjacent to the Studio 74 and Bahama Mama nightclubs. The officers started walking toward the Bahama Mama nightclub to investigate shots fired. As the officers walked toward the club, a white Nissan Maxima with four suspects inside exited the parking lot.
The suspect occupying the right front passenger seat was leaning out the window firing shots toward the officers as the vehicle traveled inbound on Independence Blvd. CMPD Sergeant Gregg Collins returned fire, striking two of the passengers. One was hit in the hand and the other in the hip. The officers returned to their vehicles, pursued the suspect vehicle and successfully stopped the vehicle in the 3200 block of Eastway Drive.
Three of the four suspects have been charged. The driver of the vehicle, Brian McCrary (Top Photo) and the shooter, a juvenile, are charged with four counts of Assault With A Deadly Weapon on a Law Enforcement Officer. Passenger Jarvis Reed (Bottom Photo) is charged with possession of marijuana. The fourth passenger was not charged. As is standard procedure, detectives are conducting the criminal investigation. Internal Affairs is conducting a separate, parallel internal investigation. Sgt. Collins is on administrative leave, a customary step in officer-involved shootings.

The high incident clubs should be required to have surveillance cameras to track these thugs.
Too bad the off-duty guys didn't aim higher.
Here are another pair of near cop-killers. Are they going to be released back on the streets. Look at their mug shot pictures; they have that gang-banger defiant expression on their faces. Faces without remorse saying, "Let me out and I will do it again". ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!
It's such a tragedy when the story is told completely wrong. As this is the case in this story with the 3 of 4 arrested for shooting at Sgt. Collins and other supposedly off duty policemen. The tragedy is the media has no concept of what is right and what is wrong until they hear both side.
This 16 year old fool with a gun shooting back at the man that just shot at him, led the others into a position of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The off duty police (what fool in his right mind would have been shooting at someone they didnt even know especially a cop) being all hyped about the shootings of the other policemen who died, were just on a rampage to get somebody that night with a gun and acting like a fool. This 16 year old started shooting at the man that took a shot at them as they were leaving the parking lot, got scared after the police shot at him and the other 3 were stuck in a car being barraged with bullets from police and not even the 16 yr. old shot back at them. They were all sitting ducks and 2 of the boys were bleeding all they could do was try to run. Count the bullets they shot in the car and see what it adds up too, and only after they ran out of bullets did they stop shooting. They wanted to kill somebody that night, but God was with some of the boys in the wrong place at the wrong time.
They couldnt get out the car, they could do nothing else but run for their lives, Jarvis was not the one that had the marijuana, the other boy Winfred was, and the 16 yr old fool was the only one with a gun. What would you do? Had they not ran in the car they would all be dead, just because of one fool, and a stupid young fool at that. Jarvis was shot by the police, he works everyday, regardless of how his mug shot looks he's a good kid, whose trying to have something. AFter being shot he was out of work for about 8 days, and was guilty of nothing but being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It happened so fast he said he wanted to get out the car, but the police riddled the car with bullets trying to kill them. Get the story right...
Im contacting the Chief and gonna see what the city's responsibility is to this innocent kid. He has an ambulance, hospital bill, pain and still has his job but is innocent of this mess....and couldnt get out! Get real....I pray every criminal is caught, and prison aint enough for some of them but when they'll innocent, I'll go to bat for them, it they're innocent.
Now write that! MamaG as Im called in the prisons, or Pastor G
