Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to 5212 Kildare Drive early this morning in reference to a man shot. Police arrived on the scene and found 30-year old Dwylan Markey McDowell shot to death.Police say McDowell was shot in the leg at a different location and was dropped off on Kildare Drive by an unknown man and woman.
Police are looking for a gold Chrysler with a temporary Georgia license plate. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 704-334-1600.

Dwylan was one of the sweetest persons I knew and he was a fantastic father to his son, my nephew. Dwylan also was the only father my nephew's siblings have ever known, they called him Dad. This world will be a sadder place without him. I love him dearly, as he was like a brother to me, and I will miss him forever. God bless him, his family, and our family.

Why does the "sweetest guy" have a mug shot??? Given the circumstances I've read about this incident, it's most likely he was up to criminal no good. The world is not a sadder place - it's a safer place!
He was arrested for misdemeanor pot possession, for heaven's sake. It's hardly a crime dooming one to the seventh circle of hell.

You know what, save the ignorant comments!! George Bush has a mugshot!! Almost every actor/actress has a mugshot. That doesn't mean anyone deserves to have their life taken by someone else.

A mugshot only means that you have been arrested. You ignorant people don't even practice your own due process. May God Bless the young man and his family. One of the CMPD who got killed was actually convicted of a misdemeanor. So does this make the world a safer place?
He really was a great guy. He was a friend of mine back in the day. It saddens me that he is being judged for a mugshot over a pot possesion rather than who he really was. The sweetest guy describes him truly. He was the type of guy to give you the shirt off his back. I pray that he has found peace. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I dont know him personally,but you cant judge someone because they have a mugshot he leaves a son that no longer has a father because of something that could have been prevented he did not deserve to lose his life.REST IN PEACE!!!
I'm sure he was a good guy. The question is what was he up to that got him murdered? Has nothing to do with his previous "simple pot possession". He must have been in over his head.
I don't know what type of person he turned into, but I do know when I first moved to Charlotte in high school he was the first friend I met. He use to wait for me after class each day, and ate lunch with me everyday. I will truley am sad to her of his passing.
P.S. Only GOD can judge him. (remember its a bigger sin to pass judgment).
