Dilworth's Serial Arsonist Sentenced

Last June, Susan Elaine Davidson (R) was charged with multiple counts of arson after she set numerous fires in the Dilworth area of Charlotte. Using forensics, investigators were able to connect and charge Davidson for four of the fires, however, they believe she is responsible for several more.

Davidson terrorized the residents of the Dilworth community for six months. She set fires outside homes in the middle of the night- using items from her home, such as cooking grease and paper towels. Davidson's fires damaged several homes and left residents awake at night- praying they wouldn't be the next target of the serial arsonist.

Susan Davidson was charged with two counts of first degree arson, burning of uninhabited structures and setting fire to grass/brush land. Earlier this year, she struck a plea deal with prosecutors. Davidson escaped jail time and received 36 months (3 years) of supervised probation. In addition, she is banned from stepping foot in the Dilworth area.

I've heard she should've received 11 years in jail for her crimes. 3 years probation is nonsense!

Probation is a joke in this case. Her attorney stated that this woman was "stressed" due to having to raise children and work full time. Hello?!? What if EVERYONE who is stressed from child raising and working went around burning down buildings and stuff? We'd be in a pretty pickle then, wouldn't we? Perhaps she'll get jail time for her next fire if she kills someone? But then again, maybe not.

She's caucasian american... therefore her sentence is reduced to NOTHING !!
Any other person asian, black, ect. 10-20 years with a 6 figure fine when they come out.

these judges are ruining Charlotte

Don't even go there. Her race has nothing to do with it. It's a Mecklenburg County court norm. Black, white, green or purple.

yeah,. i'm a little stressed too........ hopefully they'll be as lieniant when they catch me burning down a few joints in an effort to relax myself. But since me burning a little pot is SO much more detrimental to society than arson i'm sure i'll be enough time for both of us (unless ,of course ,i go to court in charlotte)

If race had anything to do with it you wouldn't see all these young black males as repeat offenders now would you?
