Finally! The owner doesn't care what happens on his property. In fact, he is in on it.
Good riddance Toll House.
Burn it to the ground! Burn Baby Burn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I stayed at the Toll House Motel for about two months (just a few weeks before the raid). I was broke and new to Charlotte - so I did not have many choices in places to stay. I would tell my deeply concerned family and friends about the "wild" environment. If they did not believe me then I know for a fact that they believe me now! Nonetheless - the residents at the Toll House Motel did not bother me. As a matter of fact - a few told me that they were looking out for me. John, the owner, was also decent. The worst thing that happened to me besides my nerves staying on edge and lacking proper rest because of the "activity" was someone breaking off my car antenna. I agree with the previous poster that the owner could have done more to clean up his place. He did not seem motivated when folks who had to stay (me at the time) or wanted to stay were willing to pay the price. For the record - the rooms were about $110 a week which included a bed, dresser, mini-fridge, cable tv, and roaches. The furniture was not in good shape. I happened to be lucky enough to have a sink in my room, so I seldom used the community baths. They were not kept clean! At any rate, I hope the residents were able to secure places to live.
