Holly Mitchell is off to Prison...

On Thursday, the infamous repeat offender Holly Mitchell was sentenced to serve 15 to 18 months in prison.
Mitchell pled guilty to five felony charges-including the charge associated with him bringing an assault rifle to a football game last September. The other felony charges Mitchell was convicted of yesterday include; breaking and entering, conspiracy, larceny, attempted larceny and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He'll be even more trouble once he's out. Be afraid be very afraid, that's not long enough.

15-18 months, huh? Plenty of time to earn his BA in thuggery. Not to mention the added "street cred" he'll have when he's returned to our streets.

Only 15 months for all those charges on a repeat offender with guns involved??? He will only serve half that sentence (good behavior, ha!) and be back on the streets next April/May, but not before learning how to be a better criminal while in con-college. We should have work camps and solitary confinement, not cable television and weight-lifting.

Is the above quote by 11:10 a joke?! I hope so! Otherwise, I'm going to put my finger down my throat! BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK....who cares, shut up!

I don't know whether to be happy or worried...

To 11:10, thanks for the ebonics lesson in typing. Good educated post. Holly is garbage, that is why everyone is on his case.

Everybody that is on here saying that they are scared of this guy and that they are so worried about him need to get a back bone. Some of you who leave these comments sound like you're just waiting to be a victim. I don't know this kid and I don't really have any intentions to. It is plain to see that this kid has some problems (bad influences, drugs, drinking, violence) but you never know when or how long it would take for him to get a wake-up call. He is not seeing the big picture about what he has the potential to do with himself in life. Even still with a criminal background. It's never too late to change. All I'm saying is that he is too young to give up on. If he does his little bit of time and then comes out unchanged or worse then he will end up right back in prison. But it is too early to call it because we know a few things about mr. holly but I'm sure that we don't know his whole story and situation. I'm not playing the hug a thug role. I'm just saying don't say that he will get out and be the same way. WE DON'T KNOW HIM!!!

To 11:10, I think he's going to jail because "he keeps doing what he's doing" and "everything gone be ok" for the rest of us because he is off the streets. Who cares if he's black, white or purple - he's been convicted because he committed crimes. He may get out sooner but don't worry he'll be back in jail or killed by some of his fellow thugs that "keep doin whut dey doin." By the way, this is a real sweet picture of him....does he use this on his resume? Oh, I forgot he doesn't have to work - he's got a gun!

Of course it's not "because he's black", it's because he's a negative influence on society.

If you're concerned it's about his skin color ask yourself this question-What is it about civilization that his kind can't grasp? If you think I mean "black" by the term "his kind", then the problem lies with you and not me!

Maybe he'll be Bubba's B... and that will scare the daylights out of him from going back to prison and he can tell his boys that prison is no joke once Bubba grabs ya'!..

I am not scared of him. You are hugging a thug, and he will be the same when he comes out. How many chances does he need? I don't need to know him to "know him". Who cares abou this situation? That doesn't make him do what he does. He chooses to be useless crap. That is his choice. Alot of young black males choose to get jobs and live their life the right way with hard work and effort, just like white kids, hispanic kids asian kids etc.

We don't have to know him or wonder what his "situation" is. What we do know is that he's a repeat offender who likes to repeatedly break the law. He got special treatment each time he was let off the hook and back on the streets. You can't make people behave like "civilized" human beings. Seeing as how he can't obey the law maybe now he'll have some time to reflect and change his ways. If not, maybe next time he'll get life or maybe he won't be that lucky. He obviously doesn't respect the law or authority.

I am a police officer here in Charlotte and I constantly hear the black comments. I'm harrassing or looking at everybody wrong. Well, it's my job to look at people walking the streets and I look even harder in known crime locations. Believe me, there is no conspiracy to harrass or arrest more black people. I'm so tired of this card being played. I have served several years now with the CMPD, but I'm soon going to resign because I'm so sick of dealing with a community who hates me being there. I'll try working in another field where I can help in another way, but I just wanted to remind everyone that there is no conspiracy and we need to end this cycle of blacks vs. blue. It only hurts our efforts to clean up the neighborhood and stop crimes.

To the Police Officer - my father is a retired police officer and I am so thankful. I can't imagine what it must be like for you out there in such a hostile environment and I know that you are held to impossible standards. Please know that I appreciate and applaud you for the job you do. Sorry to hear that you will be leaving.

I feel as if I have a reason to speak about this kid (thug). He is responsible for his own actions. Black's don't have to own or be responsible for what he has done. My connection to him is more than reading about him in the papers. Trust in the fact he had so many opportunities to do better, yet failed to heed or listen to his parents advice.
