Sanquan Davis surrendered to VCAT officers on the afternoon of March 18, 2008. Following up on leads the team developed, VCAT established surveillance of the Microtel Inn on McCullough Drive in Charlotte. Just as they were moving in to take Davis into custody, Davis emerged from his room and surrendered.
In addition to the original charges, Davis also faces charges for removing the electronic monitoring device that had been a condition of his release on bond. He is being returned to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Jail.

Sanquan Davis (Shown R) was arrested for the armed robbery of a Waffle House on May 10, 2007.After being released on bond, Davis was re-arrested for carrying a concealed gun and possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine. Davis was court ordered into CMPD's Electronic Monitoring program on December 14, 2007.
On March 4, 2008, Sanquan Davis cut off his electronic monitor and hasn't been seen since. Davis currently has several outstanding warrants for his arrest as a result of his failure to comply with the court order.
Sanquan Davis should be considered armed and dangerous. Davis is known to frequent South Boulevard, Sharon Lakes and Nations Ford Road area in south Charlotte.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Davis is asked to contact CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) at (704) 336- 8228 or call 911.

How cool would it be if instead of "electronic" braclets we could put put these house arrest thugs in shackles like they used in "Cool Hand Luke." It would make for a much easier identification by victims. Rather than saying he was, "5'8", medium build and wearing a white t-shirt," the victim could say, "he had a full set of leg irons on his feet!" Plus, you wouldn't have to guess which way he ran since you could hear him jingle and jangle all the way back to the hood. And, I bet they are a whole lot cheaper than the electronic things.
Wow, this works on a lot of levels - maybe I should run for mayor.
On seond thought, the gangstas would probably find a way to make shackles a fashion statement. Forget I mentioned it.
Two thoughts:
1) Make it law that police can shoot a fleeing felon.
2) Bring back public hangings.

The elected Officials uptown can continue to build basketball arena's, whitewater parks, NASCAR Museums, or jails. We keep voting for them, and we keep getting killed, raped, robbed and assaulted. Go figure
This is great. My neighbor goes to jail for years for cheating on taxes while violent criminals get to roam free with a bracelet? WTF!
