Why Isn't Charles Hall in Jail?

On Tuesday, CMPD Officers went to serve warrants on 41-year old Charles Allen Hall at a home on Sugar Creek Road. The warrants were related to his involvement in several catalytic converter thefts.

Hall refused to exit the home and a 5-hour SWAT Standoff (Tax $$'s) ensued. Finally, Officers found Hall hiding in the attic and took him into custody. Hall was released two days later and he is out walking the streets of Charlotte.

Hall is one of Charlotte's most notorious habitual repeat offenders. His criminal career began when he was a teenager and he is still going strong at age 41... According to my calculations, Hall has at least 49 arrests on his NC record since 1983. He has served some jail time over the past 20 years but his charges far outweigh his punishments.

Charles Hall is another great example of how the NC Justice System is failing us! Hall is a career criminal who has victimized person after person for the past 25 years and he continues to get away with it! Read his record and see for yourself.

This is your problem Charlotte!!! Why do they repeat? Because nothing happened to them before so the know nothing will happen to them again........! Just like Charles Hall these offenders are spitting in the face of our justice system. This is absolutely ridiculous. How can officers risk their lives to arrest these people when they are out in a few hours....over 60 arrests on this one guy alone.......I guess you get a free pass until you murder someone ......

I'd like to know where the money to post the bond comes from. Do our courts accept "Get Out of Jail Free Cards"? Perhaps he used Monopoly money. Just how much cash was needed to get out? $71,500 at 10% is $7,150. Guess he just had that lying aroung for pocket change.

It needs to be posted which Judge he saw and was released by for this last fiasco.

A prime example of what happens when you have people in charge of our court system who don't have the sense that God give a billy goat.

I too wonder why Charles Hall is into prison, with a record like that.

He's just our 21st century Otis.

That might be funny if it wasn't so sad

I wish this was surprising but it's the way this city chooses to handle crime. If Charlotte ever wants to grow up and become a great city, it needs to take a good look at how crime is handled in other growing great cities. Our crime and how it is handled
is pathetic and embarrassing!

What?? he is walking the streets of Charlotte again?? why????

This is a total catastrophe for the people of Charlotte and the surrounding areas. People need to start contacting Governor Easley, NC Senators and other agencies and let them know that the system in Charlotte is broken!

What I would like to know is who bailed him out? Maybe the police should investigate that person(s).

So our tax money is paying for all the police officers to be tied up while he creates a stand-off in order to avoid arrest and then he is promptly released from jail and expected to willingly show up for court on Tuesday? It's just a 3 ring circus around here - it truly is almost comical. I can't imagine the frustration that the police officers must feel when having to continually put themselves in jeopardy to arrest the same idiots again and again.

And, yes 10:36 AM, I too wonder who bails these people out?

I'd also love to know what Judge(s) are responsible for Hall's continuous career choice. I'd assume many are involved considering the years of revolving door action here.

To 10am: Sadly, Gov. Easley, our state and local politician are WELL AWARE of our problem here in Charlotte. They don't care! Feel free to write them again and copy or attach Hall’s criminal record in your email… I did.

I bet his bail money was unknowlingly paid for by his victims.

We need to start equating these offenders to Al Queda in Charlotte. They represent total anarchy. Unless militias form or some other entity we dont have a chance. So you mean to tell me a SWAT Team went to all the trouble to get this guy and he is out....beam me up....

I really think it is down to the average beat cop letting the public know which judges in the system have a chronic record of letting dangerous predators loose in Char-Meck. Maybe that is not fair, but that is what it has come to -- the public has no way of knowing what is going on otherwise.

With Darrel Stephens today, once again, in the Uptown paper of record, pleading powerlessness someone has to step up. The Net provides a way to do this.

The QC is at a tipping point. We can still save it.

This is so typical. And the thugs know that they will get a slap on the hand or less, so the crime is getting worse, faster. Look around to what is going on each day. I have a Trunking Scanner and listen to eastover division, since i live in NoDa. I am on the crime and safety group here, talk to officers and everything... it is getting worse here in all of Charlotte each day. The thugs are smarter (so to say) and more organized now. We are at risk anywhere, there is little safety. And the higher up's in the city don't care too much, they have good protection around their houses and such... increased security at their facilities... its all BS. We are out here funding their lavish lifestyles and risking everything each day. And the numbers that CMPD are releasing, forget-about-it. They have a cool system of reclassifying the calls after they get them. Research this: The Calls for service vs the calls that make it to an actual report. Its all available info. I did this and to say it shocked me is an understatment.

Its time for us all to UNITE somehow and let the officials know we mean business with fighting crime and the punishments!!!

This should be on the front page of the Charlotte Observer. Maybe then people might take notice.

It appears Charles Hall is smarter than the Mecklenburg Court system . Just goes to show you how smart they are. Liberalism at work for the taxpayer.

Take a good look at his face..Then if you aren't already armed..Get one and get ready for the attack you are going to get from this common piece of CRAP ! The ONLY way to stop this BS is to shoot these animals when they try to commit another crime..Am I heartless? YOU BET I AM ! When they start getting killed maybe they will think twice about thier animalistic ways! Send that donkey looking B@ast@ard over to my house some night and see what he looks like on the news the next day !

What happned to 3 strikes and your out?

The Judges should be ashamed ! They are letting the citizens down every week. MAAD made them start doing the job they are paid for. A similiar movement needs to take place about repeat offenders ! Charlotte is in trouble ! Time to step up ! Anarchy is here ! Lock them up and let the lesser violent ones out. Time to try a new approach !

Every person that has written a comment here is part of the blame for this happening, ok, including me. Why? because we allow it to happen! If the citizens of Charlotte would go get some testosterone shots, stand up, raise hell with the Politicians WE have elected, and stand out front of city hall, this would stop. Hold the Judges (as bad as the criminals when it come to crime) responsible. This guy is a predator, too sorry to work, he preys on weaker people, those like us, that will not stand up for themselves! We can build Basketball Arena's but not Jails? Outraegeous! WE should be ashamed!
Get your handgun permit and defend yourself and your loved ones!!!!

These judges play hardball when I try to get a missuse of 911, dissmissed charged, expunged from records. Yet they play pattycake with the hibitual offenders. Reelection is coming up for must of the judges, gather a list of there names and DON'T REELECT THEM, prme example Judge Thomas Moore Jr. VOTE NO

CRIME PAYS

Anonymous said...

See the problem here is no one is thinking like a politician. See it's not Mr Halls fault, society has failed him. He obviously needs to attend another counseling program through the courts in Mecklenburg County to learn how not to do these crimes over and over and over again. You know the ones Park Helms and all the Democrats believe are the answer. Citizens need to elect a new District Attorney, one that is going to be tough on crime and not plea bargain EVERY FELONY CHARGE down to misdemeanors for guilty pleas. A police cheif that cares more about locking criminals up instead of the root cause of crime. Hey wake up, pull the covers off your head. The cause of crime is criminals. If you didn't have criminals you wouldn't have crime. DUH!!!

Can someone please explain to me why the officers simply didn't put a bullet in this loser's head!!!

Anonymous said...

I think we should give this guy a 1 year supply of drugs and let him do himself in. He should last about a week.

Anonymous said...

The police lock him up and the DA's prosecute the case, but judges impose low bonds, judges give lenient sentences, and jurors routinely give Not Guilty verdicts in this La-La land know as Meck Co! Wake up and support your Police, your Sheriff's Dep't (and thus jail) and your DA's office!!!!! Hold judges and jurors accountable!!!!!!

All the power brokers care about is their own saftey,no one elses! The University City area is becoming a slum full of Section 8 welfare parasites, gangs, fast food joints,able-bodied but idle Negroes and armed robberies. This would not be tolerated in the upscale areas. All we common folks have left is our guns.We get absolutely no help from the government. The title of a long-ago book springs to mind:"Rivers of blood, years of darkness".

It would be a wonderfully insightful idea for the manager of this website to begin deleting and/or not allowing some of the comments to be posted that clearly have a strong racist overtone.
