CMPD: Elderly Robbery Suspect Arrested Again

Yesterday, CMPD Officers arrested 39-year old Adrienne Patrice Johnson and charged her with common law robbery and breaking/entering after she attacked an elderly woman last Thursday. This is Adrienne Johnson's 53rd arrest in Mecklenburg County and not the first time she has attacked old ladies... (View DOC Record)

Police say an elderly female reported that a woman came to her door last Thursday and asked to use the phone. The victim allowed Johnson inside and escorted her to the phone. Johnson then knocked the victim to the floor, ransacked her room and fled with the victim's money.

Johnson was released from jail last Wednesday (one day before the robbery) for numerous larceny charges for identical offenses. Police say she was arrested on March 28th and released on April 23rd for the following seven crimes:

  • On March 1, 2008: Johnson knocked on the door of a residence on Keswick Ave occupied by 73- year old female and asked to use the phone. She then grabbed the victim's purse and ran. She later returned and stole the victim's car using the keys in the purse.
  • On February 25, 2008: Johnson knocked on the door of a residence occupied by a 66-year old female on Barfield Drive and asked to use the phone. After she left, the victim noticed her checkbook missing. The suspect wrote numerous checks on the victim's account.
  • On February 18, 2008: Johnson asked to use the phone at a residence on Morgan Street. After the victim allowed her inside, Johnson ran off with the victim's purse.
  • February 18, 2008: At a residence on Senior Drive, a 70-year old victim gave Johnson a ride in her car after Johnson falsely identified herself as a neighbor's grand-daughter. Johnson ran from the victim's vehicle with her purse.
  • On February 3, 2008: A 77-year old victim reported Johnson asked to use her phone to call a family member- saying she lived next door on Tanglebrook Lane. The victim later found her wallet missing and her credit cards used by Johnson.
  • On January 23, 2008: A 64-year old woman on Rollingwood Drive reported that she allowed Johnson to use her phone to call a neighbor who wasn't answering her door. She later found her wallet missing and unauthorized checks being written.
  • On January 10, 2008: A 64-year old woman on Crestridge Drive allowed Johnson to use her phone and found her wallet missing.

CMPD urges all citizens not to allow strangers into their homes. If an individual requests to use your phone for an emergency, offer to call 911 for them.

what a joke. Obviously prison hasn't taught her a thing. Put her sorry ass in jail and leave her there. This loser was supposed to be on probation, what the hell????

The way the court system is handling this It would be cheaper just to give her a check every day for spending money at taxpayers expense. AT least this would protect some old lady"s from her.I wonder how much time and money is already been spent on her?

But the better solution is to hope that she finally enters a old ladies house and gets shot by a visiting family member.

Just remember, here in Mecklenburg county it is a great place to be a criminal.

Do the crime and do NO time.

Exactly how many felonies do you have to rack up before you are charged as a habitual felon ?!?!
This is ridiculous.

Obviously Pat McCrory should be Governor with his outstanding crime prevention program. This scumbag should be shot.... she will never amount to nothing but trouble. Too lazy to work, to sorry to know other people have rights also. Trash!

I got a better idea. Let's make this world a little better by ridding ourselves of societies parasites... permanently.

Where is she now? I'll give her someone to pick on her own size.

Shame on Meck courts for letting her continue to prey on the elderly.

Well the citizens of Charlotte urge the courts to keep repeat offenders in jail instead of bonding them out!

A bullet to the head is what this piece of garbage deserves.

Someone homie will probably click on her name, see her arrest which includes HER address, and then go and rob HER for her drugs. What do you wanna bet she would be the first to dial 911 to call the cops ??!!!

This broad needs 30 years or a bullet to the head, whichever she'd prefer. She is exactly what is wrong with this cesspool of crime called Charlotte North Carolina!!!

And this scumbag is still walking the streets, why? Send her over to Iraq and let her learn what happens to her kind there. She needs to be put away for good, and I don't care how.

I did a quick analysis of the number of crimes this woman has committed (broken out by felony vs. misdemeanor) and her corresponding sentence.

In the past 12 years, she's been arrested 20 times with the following consequences:

Convicted of 13 felonies, 7 misdemeanors. Out of those crimes, she's served jail time for 11 of them, with the other 6 given probation and 3 suspended sentence (for a total of approximately 79 months served). That pretty much corresponds with the percentage figure I heard for Mecklenburg Co. (46% of *charged* felonies are dismissed or given no jail time -- the scary thing is that in her case, this is for actual *case* CONVICTIONS that went to trial!)

And remember...these are just for the crimes she's been caught for. How many other times has she not been caught?

The citizens of Charlotte have had enough with the revolving door and hug-a-thug program. This is another prime example of the broken justice system we have in Mecklenburg County. It's time to remove the elected officials who have supported a culture of continued lack of accountability (regardless of which political t-shirt you wear).

We have all the pretty things a city should need (new arena, new whitewater center, thriving downtown, (soon) new baseball stadium, new arts center, new afro-american center, new roads for private developers, new incentives for relocating businesses) all paid by you and I. Now it's time for us to address core issues like crime/courts, roads, taxes and education (with results).

these people need my method instant justice!repeat offenders of this magnitude need stiffer sentences. If Charlotte would quit worrying about the damn lynx rail system and start building bigger jails we could house these domestic terrorists!

Who wants to house, feed and give healthcare to these wastes of flesh? Not me! I want to see her hung at the court house... if we just went back to more permanent methods of ridding ourselves of useless, trash like this woman, crime would drop dramatically... no more "3 hots and a cot", let's get back to instant justice on the spot!

I remember her when she worked with me at Godfather's Pizza back in the day on Eastway Drive. Hell, she stole money from the cash register back then in 85-86 and was fired!

Our leaders elected by US can find money for Basketball Arena's, Subsidize WhiteWater Parks, NASCAR Museums, ETC. but no money for Jails for these animals running around Charlotte. Put there sorry ass's in a tent city with no A/C, no tv's, no fancy food, and make them work 8 hours a day cleaning up the city. Chain Gang like they do in Arizona. No need to spend a lot of money, our Hero's in Iraq live in tents with no A/C and its 125+ degrees. These Thugs take kindness as a weakness. Get off your knees and stand up and protect yourselves.
