Get your Catalytic Converter Engraved for Free
CMPD: Engraving Catalytic Converters To Aid Recovery
The CMPD is partnering with local businesses to offer free engraving services for catalytic converters- which have recently become hot items for thieves looking to cash in on the valuable metals they contain.
While engraving a converter doesn't prevent theft, if enough people get them engraved, it can be a deterrent. Also, if your catalytic converters is stolen, it makes it easier for officers to recover.
The engraving takes about 10 minutes. The following businesses will provide the service free of charge at the following locations:
Meineke Car Care Center- 6447-A East Independence Blvd.
Firestone Complete Auto Care- 5340 E. Independence Blvd.
Griffin Tire Co.- 5200 E. Independence Blvd.
Goodyear Tire- 327 S. Polk Street, Pineville, NC
Fleet Truck- 700 Griffith Road
Meineke Car Care- 5235 South Blvd.
NOTE: Catalytic converter theft is an epidemic across the country. The price of platinum, one of the metals in the converter, has skyrocketed and thieves can get $50 for a converter from an unscrupulous scrap metal dealer...

30 were stolen today at Parks Chevrolet.
Hell, due to the gas prices that they are now I havnt even driven my car in about a week (I live walking distance from where I work). Maybe I should look underneath the car tomorrow morning to make sure mine is still there!!!
Question- where is the best place to find a crack head?
Answer-Under your car using a cordless sawsall
Question-How come the police do not catch them using a sting operation. It would be so easy to do this.
Answer-The jails are full and the leadership here in charlotte does not give a damn.
Question- what can be done?
Answer-Vote out the entire city leadership and put the crack heads in charge, it is obvious they are smarter than the politicians... Politicians who get caught stealing go to jail CRACK HEADS DON'T!!!
you'll get better gas mileage without it on there anyways. you just won't pass inspection which isn't a problem in souse cackalacki.
