Two Employees Shot During Motel Armed Robbery; One Killed
Shortly before 10:30 pm last night, two motel employees were shot by an armed robber at the Country Hearth Inn, located on Equipment Drive . One employee died at the scene and the other suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Police say the two employees buzzed two men into the lobby of the motel and they pretended to inquire about renting a room. During the exchange, one of the suspects pulled a gun from behind his back and shot 63-year-old Larry Broughton, who was working behind the counter. He died at the scene.
The second victim is 55-year-old Manjula Patel, the motel owner’s wife. She had just come in to work the overnight shift when the robbery occurred. Mrs. Patel suffered serious gunshot wounds but is expected to be okay.
The motel is offering a $10,000 reward for the capture of the men responsible for the shooting & murder. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.

Keep up the great work Kelly! I'm convinced your website has contributed to making citizens aware of just how bad it is in Charlotte and has brought about a lot of the recent media attention to the problems.
This particular crime is one that really arouses anger in the community - okay, you want to rob me? Fine. Take what you want - but why do you have to kill?????
It's like the woman on the tape said - "It's them or us" I am now armed and dangerous. Check the stats on gun sales and you'll see a trend in Charlotte. It's horrifying that it has come to this, but it's what it takes to feel safe.
Should the police capture the suspects it will probably be another case where bail is set too low, their trial is years out, and they eventually are freed!!Two innocent citizens slaughtered by thugs. Find the suspects and kill them period. Do not take them alive!!! End of discussion. But you and I both know that it will never happen in this crime infested city.

This case is disturbing like the cold blooded murder of that grandmother last month. Charlotte is falling apart, and the good citizens are losing the war.
i would like use a quote that i hear from today's racial activist a.k.a. Rev.(lol) Sharpton, 'another modern day lynching'.
My suggestion: Buy a gun SOON to protect yourself and your property and family. Once Obama is in the White House, big time gun control will be put in place. That means YOU can't arm yourself but criminals like these will still have their guns on the street. Take a class at a local range and learn how to use it. It may be your only hope as things get worse and worse here.
A little story about owning guns: one night about 18 months ago I pulled my pistol on a thug wannabe who jimmied open my back door. When he ran I fired 2 shots in the air, then yelled D----t, I missed!" I was told later that the kid ran at least two blocks and looked terrified. Neither me or my neighbors have had any trouble since. In fact, the thugs have just about disappeared. The lesson: they WILL leave you alone if they believe you will shoot at them.
to 10:37 pm: What goes up must come down. It is a good thing your negligent use of a gun didn't kill anyone blocks away. If your going to own a gun, know how to use it responsibly.

I hope all of you that read this have learned a valuable lesson. The lesson is that you need to be armed and willing to KILL THESE 25 IQ HAVING BABOONS that do not care about you or your loved ones.
For your home, I would suggest a pump shotgun. NO MAN can withstand a 12 gauge blast to the torso/head. As for your business, I would invest in nothing less than a .40 caliber handgun with a high capacity magazine. ALWAYS keep one in the chamber. CCW is legal in NC folks!!! I have even seen gun holsters that attach to wherever neccessary via bolts. You can attach one underneath the cash-register/checkout counter if need be. It would be smart to have 2 firearms this way. One on your person and one under the register.
This way, you dont have to dial 911... You can do all the citizens of Meck-county a favor and just dial up the Morgue. :)

If one of Charlottes "thugs" try to rob you, shoot first, ask questions later. If you don't they may just shoot you. Its better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. These thugs have gotten away with murder in Charlotte while our elected officials look the other way and build NASCAR Museums, White Water Parks, and Basketball Arena's. Its time to fight back. These thugs ain't worth the dynamite it would take to blow their nose. Get armed and protect yourself and your family. One thing I know for sure, " a dead thug is a good thug."
