CMPD Officers arrested 58-year old Sallie Saxon Wamsley and charged her with misdemeanor larceny today. - Read post about 'Charlotte's madam' from last November -Police say Saxon (aka Wamsley) shoplifted over $50 in goods from the Stein Mart store located in Cotswold Village on Sharon Amity Rd. Saxon stole a wallet, pair of shorts and a shirt from the store.

I still want them to arrest all of the Johns that used her service, guarantee that many of the guys would be from govt and from those tall buildings uptown. It is criminal to prosecute her and to let the rich and powerful get off free.

Has she already been convicted in court? I didn't think so, but you sure imply she has by writing that "Saxon stole a wallet, pair of shorts and a shirt from the store".
This is the problem with reporting crime. When you employ writer's who are not 'professional journalists', you run the risk of accusing someone of commiting a crime when they haven't even been to court yet.
To have made millions in the prostitution ring Ms. Saxons address is in a very moderate ($150k-200k) neighborhood. Their most likely was someone above her making much more dough, and Saxon was just the one set to take the fall.
To 8:35am I'm sure that security actually caught her leaving the store with concealed items otherwise she wouldn't have been arrested. Just because she may have an attorney who gets charges dropped doesn't mean she hasn't committed a crime, hence the site "Crime in Charlotte"
8:57- Most all of the Saxon's assets were frozen after they were arrested.
To 8:57am, she was the madam and the mastermind of the ring. She has the nicest house in the neighborhood and the nicest cars. Obviously spent alot on plastic surgery. She was smart enough not to go out and buy elaborate house which would really send up red flags when you don't have a "real" job.
She participated in the "oldest Profession" on the planet. She appears to be a thief. (appears to be)She has obviously left her morals someplace. But one thing for sure, she didn't make anyone participate unwillingly as far as we have been told. Most adults have sex, (most) her customers were just willing, or needed, to pay for it. She didn't kill anyone, rape anyone, or break into anyone's home and rob them. Agree 100%, all the "johns" name should be published in the paper. They violated the law as much as she did by participation. They will not do that because some big shots are on the list, very big shots. If they publish her name, they should publish their names! Most likely, she will get more time than a "thug" that has 25-30 previous arrest gets.. Justice huh?
Why would Sallie (Uberfug) Saxon need to shoplift from Steinmart, when her girls were making a min of $10k a tumble? Sounds like defiant behavior. Oh well, prison should fix that.

I agree, considering most of them are probably married. I think the wives have a right to know that their husbands are cheating with prostitutes, who may or may not have diseases. prostitution is a VICTIMLESS crime....... like i've said before, look at the model of the Netherlands........ it works there, and it could work here ( and it already does in Nevada)

How is prostitution a victimless crime? Look at the arrest record of the hookers on this blog. Often times they have prior arrests for drugs and/or robbery. With the exception of "Hush-Hush," most of the hookers in Charlotte aren't doing it so they can go shopping at South Park, they are hooking so they can get their next crack rock.
I think Chad would make some guy a great son in law, till Chad's picture shows up on the news for picking up hookers.

People who think prostitution is a victimless crime are clueless to say the least. If you can't find sex any other way than paying for it you are pitiful. Most of the johns are married men who not only are cheating on their wives but are also putting them at risk for disease. It also degrades women and is demoralizing. Just because it is legal doesn't make it safe. Testing for AIDS is not 100% nor is any other disease testing. If you feel like you have to pay for sex, buy a ticket to Nevada or Amsterdam and have a good time.

Wow, you people are being pretty hard on chad717 for what he said, and are mistaking street prostitution for the legalized prostitution available in areas of Nevada, the Netherlands, and other parts of the world (Austrailia? Wow!) . The girls there CHOOSE to enter the trade, and have to be licensed and certified disease-free (with routine checkups). Compare that with a recent report that over 1/4 of women in NYC have genital herpes, and legalized/controlled/taxed prostitution is infinitely better than the model we use in most of this country.
Whether you have a moral problem with the act of prostitution itself is another matter, but the fact is that men are willing to pay for a service that some women are willing to provide. It is going to happen, whether legal or not. Would anyone like to give valid reasons why legalized and controlled prostitution would NOT result in fewer crack/meth-addicted street prostitutes such as the unfortunate ones we see on these pages?

The dirty prostitutes will always been around even if prostitution is legalized. They cater to a whole different clientele to get their drug money. Not every one could afford a high priced whore.
There was no one 'higher up' than Sallie, she made all 30% for herself. And her clients were VERY well known. It is sad to see her supposedly reduced to shoplifting.
I guess the lesson to learn here is to not base your livelihood on illegal activities. Hard to feel sorry for her.

I'm her neice shes my mothers sister. She has COMPLETELY turned her life to GOD!!! She is speaking at churches with her pastor and she has been having bible studies at her home! She knows she did something wrong and is standing up to take responsibility!! I love my Aunt, she has always been a wonderful lady just stuck in a bad situation! She DIDNT shop lift!!!! she has had a thing around her ankle from the very beggining!!! We cant understand were this came from and can only guess someone wants the spotlight!!! Shes bigger than that!!! I love her!!!!
