These pics are just sad and pathetic. The reality is these kids have no home training. There was never a discussion about right and wrong, morals or values. The parents cant help their kids. Most of the kids are products of single parenting and that single parent is encouraging the kids to 'get whatever you can'. I'm not sure I understand your first question. Look at the percentage of different races that live below the poverty line in Charlotte.
2005 percentage living below poverty line:
White: 6.0% Black: 20.8% Hispanic: 18.2%
If you are non-white you have a 3X greater chance of living BELOW the poverty line than Whites.
Some of you will NEVER look at the data and the cause, because you simply DON'T care. No one ever CARES until it affects them. Until the crime hits your neighborhood. But we SHARE the problem, because as long as there is such a difference in the economic situation in the city and country, the crime won't stop.

The citizens of the United States need to be armed and protected by law whenever they kill a thug trying to deprive them of life, liberty, or property. I believe if our justice system was swift and decisive we would not have so much crime. Capital Punishment should not only be allowed, but mandated for the first offense of all violent crimes committed against person and property using deadly weapons. If someone steals, they should have their hand amputated by a sword in public. They steal again remove the other hand.
Executions should occur within 6-12 months of conviction and these executions should be in the public square.
Swiftly execute these criminals in a public manner and I bet the crime will quickly cease. We will also save taxpayer money for prisons. If someone is worried about being wrongly convicted, then do not associate with criminals and those up to mischief.
If these thugs commit the crime they should experience an immediate punishment. We will need to sacrifice a few to save the majority.

I hear a lot of foot stomping and soap box preaching from the Sharptons, Jackson's and local black leaders but it seems to me that they aren't addressing the real issues that drag their community down. I don't see any white people in these pictures holding guns to the heads of these thugs in order to make them act that way. Nevertheless, Sharpton would have you believe that this is a common reaction of someone who is oppressed. The sickening reality of it is that these thugs are oppressing our community. A giant parade of dangerous ignorance. I am affraid that there will have to be another revolution in this country to stop the liberal mentality if we want to salvage what is left of this great country.

Some of the responses to my original comment, seem to prove my point. The focus of many, is ALWAYS on race, and as always, other factors are ignored. As I mentioned before, I hate thugs and thuggery just like the next person. I feel that if you rob, steal, sell drugs, etc., you should go to jail and stay there for a long time. I believe in a 3-strikes law, in which the 3rd offense will require a 10-20 year sentence....period. I am tough on crime, as I believe it is a scourge in our community, decreases our property value, makes us feel unsafe, and puts our lives in danger every time we walk out of the house. To me, drug dealers are the lowest form of human, and they don't deserve to see the light of day.
Now, with that said, I also hate racism and ignorance. The type of igorance that doen't SOLVE problems, but places blame simply on race and ignores everything else. Again, this applies to White people, as it ALSO applies to Al Sharpton. Al Sharpton destroys race relations more than building them up. I hate it when he comes to town, but its because I hate racism in ALL forms from ANYONE, Black or White.

I'm not sure I understand your first question. Look at the percentage of different races that live below the poverty line in Charlotte.
2005 percentage living below poverty line:
White: 6.0%
Black: 20.8%
Hispanic: 18.2%
If you are non-white you have a 3X greater chance of living BELOW the poverty line than Whites.
Some of you will NEVER look at the data and the cause, because you simply DON'T care. No one ever CARES until it affects them. Until the crime hits your neighborhood. But we SHARE the problem, because as long as there is such a difference in the economic situation in the city and country, the crime won't stop.
In other countries, crime is higher in economically depressed areas, race being a non-factor. Have you been to Italy, Poland, Germany? These countries have very low percentages of non-whites, yet the crime in the lower economic areas of those countries are 17X higher than in the upper economic areas. So if this blog was posted in Poland, you would see nothing but white people. However, even faced with that data, I am ABSOLUTELY sure SOME of you would find a way to blame Black people anyway.

Economically depressed area. That is an area evidently surrounded by economically sound areas, hence the distinction.
These areas form for different reasons, government assistance, cheap slum housing ecetera attract these underachievers.
The common theme is that they are populated by people, that for whatever reason, function at a lower level than their neighbors.
It may be due to your past ie. no education, crummy parents, mental affliction,too many babies, or whatever.
These same "issues" lend to other poor lifestyle decisions. So expect to see the underachieving populace have more than one symptom of their problem, whatever it may be. Expect to see them on this blog.

I do not understand why guns are so easily accessible. Is this (easy availability of guns by criminals) another lost cause meaning the gov/city leaders/federal can't do anything or the problem is too big? With all of the crime happening all over Charlotte (most of which is not reported on the news because they sanitize just about everything and spend way too much time talking about the weather...) no wonder I've begun hearing regular people start talking about buying a gun to protect themselves. Me personally, I'm more like Mr. Chicken when it comes to guns....so no vigilante tactics for me.

The citizens of the United States need to be armed and protected by law whenever they kill a thug trying to deprive them of life, liberty, or property. I believe if our justice system was swift and decisive we would not have so much crime. Capital Punishment should not only be allowed, but mandated for the first offense of all violent crimes committed against person and property using deadly weapons.
If someone steals, they should have their hand amputated by a sword in public. They steal again remove the other hand.
Executions should occur within 6-12 months of conviction and these executions should be in the public square.
Swiftly execute these criminals in a public manner and I bet the crime will quickly cease. We will also save taxpayer money for prisons. If someone is worried about being wrongly convicted, then do not associate with criminals and those up to mischief.
If these thugs commit the crime they should experience an immediate punishment.
We will need to sacrifice a few to save the majority.
