Burglary Arrests in Dilworth Neighborhood
Officer Mike Haney of the Providence Division was working a burglary suppression patrol in the Dilworth neighborhood Wednesday morning when he observed two suspicious persons on Springdale Avenue .
Officer Haney approached the two subjects and initiated a voluntary contact with them. The subjects gave Officer Haney permission to pat them down and the officer located numerous digital cameras and personal electronics in one of the subject’s pockets.
The two subjects were also carrying a backpack with an airport luggage tag on it. Officer Haney used the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s online reporting system, KBCOPS, to search for prior police reports involving the name on the tag.
Finding a prior report, Officer Haney made contact with the person whose name was on the tag and they confirmed that no one should be in possession of that backpack. Other officers responded to the victim’s home in the 600 block of Olmsted Park Place and found evidence of a burglary.
The two subjects were taken into custody and both have been charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.
Arrested were:
- Teiresias Deandrea Metts- Metts has been arrested 15 times in Mecklenburg County since 2003.
- Todd Eric Boderick- Boderick has been arrested 10 times in Mecklenburg County since 2003. Boderick is currently on probation.

AMAZING! So just how many times do you have to get arrested and commit felonies to actually be sent away to prison! These idiots probably laughed all the way to jail and are probably busy planning their next crime spree.
These two gentlemen should not even be on the street. Look at their past records. This is another example of a failed DA's office and Judges that do not give out appropriate sentences per the statues. We do not need new laws, just enforce the existing laws. Gilchrist and his office, the Judges, need to be held accountable for the safety of the citizens of this city. They have not been nor are they now.. Good job WBT.. you smoked him out! We need a change!
Well at least they're stupid criminals.
Stupid criminals?? They've gotten away with felonies multiple times.
I'd say a stupid electorite for electing bleeding heart liberals that allow these thugs to keep breaking the law. Oh and BTW nothing is going to happen to Peter Gilcrist. He can be the DA as long as he wants the job.
Someone should do a study to see exactly which judges are letting these repeat offenders off the hook. Once we know who the judges are, they should be publicized so that we know not to re elect these lazy judges who choose not to enforce the law. Please don't use the old crowded jail excuse either.
Let them sit on each others laps for all I care.
Thank you Peter Gilchrist for allowing these animals to be in society, I really hope they come and pay you a visit some night when you are not home because you SENT THEM TO VISIT a lot of taxpayers when they were not at home.
They might be stupid but they are smarter than our DA.
Great job, Officer Haney! Let's hope the court system is able to keep these two in jail with the evidence you've handed over to them.
Yes, I said stupid. Letting a cop just run up on you and start searching you while you are walking down the street is pretty stupid.
I received an email warning that there was a home invasion in Matthews, this morning, near South Trade St and Fullwood Ln. It's probably really easy to get lulled into a false sense of security in the small town Matthews, but they have to remember how close to Monroe Rd and Independence they live. No one is safe these days!
yu don't need permission for a pat down. getting tired of hearing it put that way.
Peter Gilchrist should be fired.
Great work Officer Haney ! Your turn Gilcrist.
