A ninth grade student at Myers Park High School brought a loaded gun to school Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials said.The school resource officer got a tip that the student had a gun on campus. When the officer searched 17-year-old Adrian McLeod, he found a loaded .38 revolver and confiscated it, CMS says.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police tell NewsChannel 36 that McLeod had three rounds in the gun and one round in his pocket. He is not being cooperative with police, they say.
No students or teachers were harmed or threatened, CMS says. McLeod has been charged with a felony for possessing a firearm on school grounds. Police are investigating, and McLeod will be disciplined based on the CMS Code of Student Conduct.

This is absolutely ridiculous. My 15 year old 10th grader is on the same campus as animals like Adrian. 1. Where were his parents? 2. Why was he allowed to attend one of the best high schools in the state with his record? (academic and criminal.)

Imagine this: here is a "perfect" specimine of the liberal, no child left behind policy, and the results of our Char/Meck School system. A 6 foot tall, 200 lb. felon, carrying a gun, sitting in a room with a bunch of 9th graders. Coach Joe, this is the perfect student for you to put on the front page of the paper as a true "success" story of the Char/Meck disadvantaged student!

Parents should be outraged! This is an example of the liberal policies of your local school board. These elected bleeding heart liberals had rather your child be contaminated than to throw one thug like this out of school. A gun carrying 6 foot tall 200 lbs. thug mixed in with helpless 9th graders is outraegeous. This is just the tip of the iceburg af far as the conditions our local schools operate under. Think of the teachers that have to deal with this dangerous classroom atmosphere. Mothers should be outside Gormans office raising hell! Lucky this delinquent didn't shoot someone. Where is this thugs parents? Think he might be from a single parent home with no discipline? Would you want your child sitting next to this guy in the 9th grade! When top level business professionals are recruited to come to Charlotte, the cost of a private school for the children is always part of the bargain.

Welcome to the Char/Meck institute for Thugs and Thugetts. Imagine your kids being subjected to the criminal mentality of folks like this young man for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. You work hard, try to teach your kids right from wrong, and then you entrust them to the Charmeck institute for Thugs and Thugetts. Think the 450 gang members in the Schools system are also influencing your kids? Im telling you this is all getting out of hand when I was in school they made us (the students) go through a metal detector before school and after school and also made us empty out our book bags not only CMS but all the shcools need to step up the security portion to protect the students. I guess its going to take a shooting like Columbine or Virginia Tech to open certain individuals' eyes just look at it this way what if your child went to a school and crap like whats listed above happened you would think twice. What the heck is the CMS "code of student conduct"? Is it not written in black and white that possession of a loaded firearm is immediate expulsion from school for 3 years or more? If not, why not! Do we need to have a student murdered in school before this totally Liberal School Board wakes up to what is really happening in CMS?
CMS is run by a bunch of liberal weenies who really do not have a clue . If they did our school system would not be in the shape it is.
as a recent former teacher at west charlotte, i had the honor of dealing with "students" like this one. the system does not provide alternatives, nor fund properly the ones in place. these guys don't try anything around me because they know i could deal with them and have ways of implementing them. the problem is that administrators and overpaid politicians don't like us peasant soldiers coming up with proactive ideas that are free and voluntary from passionate, caring people for kids who want to learn. my classroom of 14 and 15 year olds have no business having to sit through a class with a dumbass like this. bottom line is parents need to be more involved and pressure administrators and get to know what your kids go through every day!
I have prayed earnestly for this young man. He is a product of hate and violence.
He needs to be evaluated and, unfortunately, incarcerated. I pray he can be rehabilitated as he is so young, and so lost.
My son attends this school. I am so thankful to God, and all the angels of heaven that this misguided delinquent was apprehended before causing harm.

I taught this kid back in the 2005-2006 school year when he was a "first time" freshman. Unfortunately he is probably one of those kids who can't drop out at 16 because a judge is forcing them to attend school until they are 18. Basically his teachers and everyone else at whatever school he attends is a babysitter from the hours of 7am-3pm. Got to love the court system and No Child Left Behind!!
