This is a sad story...we really need to find something for our teen boys to occupy there time instead of them finding things like this to get into...this is sad. It seems no one cares enough to create a program for the young troubled teens...Now this happens...all I can say is WOW

Maybe if the City of Charlotte stop spending money on basketball arena, NASCAR museums, white water rafting parks and potential minor league baseball stadiums, then maybe something can like after school/after hours outreach/rec centers can be built in various parts of the city to keep kids like this young man out of trouble.

6:36, It is not the taxpayers job to raise some one else's kids . Let mom and grandma do it... Dad is seldom around.

To the person who thinks nobody cares enough to start a program, why don't you start a program for troubled teens? Stop looking for the government and everyone else to do something for you and take some responsibility yourself.

"after school/after hours outreach/rec centers can be built in various parts of the city to keep kids like this young man out of trouble" -- DOES ANYONE REALLY BELIEVE THIS???????

Are these kids committing crimes because they are BORED and have nothing better to do? That's crazy thinking!

"...no one cares enough to create a program for the young troubled teens..." WHAT?????

Where are the parents? What about taking responsiblity for your own actions? What about punishment fitting the crime? What about DRUGS in this City? And GANGS?
Who did you vote for in the last election? When was the last time you complained to the politicians who are not being good stewards of our tax money? Quit justifying bad behavior and do what you CAN do to change things for the better.

First, no one commits murder as their first crime, it is quite likely that these kids have a history in the court system, and it is this system that failed them and society at large. When a kid gets busted for drugs, or underage drinking, it should not be considered a joke, both of these action in minors mean there are problems in their life which they are trying to escape. Kids, who already have a bad sense of judgement, have even worse judgement when they get hooked on drugs or alcohol. That does not excuse their actions, but it does suggest that we need to address this issue before it escalates to violence. We can't control who are going to become parents, be we need to be damn sure to take care of at-risk youths, or they will prey on society that ignored them when they become adults.

Are you crazy? Society is not to blame for the actions of this punk! He is plain and simple. Try him, convict if guilty and either execute him or put him away for life!!! I don't give a damn how sad his mother or relatives are. They had their chance and they, too, failed.

You're insane if you think these little degenerates will go to your after school activities. Tell you what, ask a couple and see what happens.
What a joke. They are like mad dogs. They should be treated as such.
