Richard Priode, 44, a former CMS band teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year old student.Priode was teaching at South Mecklenburg High School in 2007 when he had the consensual sexual relationship with the student. The accusations only involve one student.
The police investigation didn't begin until April of 2009 when someone reported the incident to CMPD. Priode is charged with indecent liberties with a student.
Priode worked for CMS from August 2006 to June 2008. He left CMS last year and went to work at Sullivan Middle School in Rock Hill, SC.

Richard Priode also taught band at Laney High School in Wilmington, NC. I know because I reported him for abuse and creating a hostile environment based on the sex of his students -- especially if the student was a female -- like my daughter. Numerous other Laney parents reported similar incidents. The Laney principal and the school board covered it up. That's why Priode has no issues in his background check.
No wonder the student are not learning anything because the teachers are after the students it's a shame

I went to Laney. I am all too aware of what happened there and I think this is an issue that needs to be revisited.
Priode should spend the rest of his life in jail for what he actually did, which is far more significant than what is being reported at this time. I have a feeling that what is on the news and written in these blogs isn't even scratching the surface. Please reply.

He was also band director of Richlands High School in Virginia. My sister was in the band and said he was a real creep always saying inappropriate things. He left his wife and married one of my sister's classmates after she graduated. She would be about 33 now.
