Unbelievable. Maybe if the court system put him away as they should have last year then he wouldn't be out there beating up 46 yrs old. OUR DA is HORRIBLE!

lets see if he gets out again. notice that he also had warrant for murder.

This guy is a poster child for everything that is wrong in the justice system here in Charlotte.
He is a offense to a civilized society.

He deserves life in prison, but instead LET EM GO GILCHRIST rules the day!!!

I used to "think" we lived in a civilized society....but these days there is MUCH doubt about this1 These kids have no chance being raised by parent "thugs" or those who think the world owes them a living and teach their kids to think the same way! WHEN does it end???

To anonymous 6/21 251pm, it will not end until parents step up and be parents to teach these kids at a very early age about God, love, discipline, and respect. We, as a society, have thrown all of those principles out of the window by believing in this secular humanism crap-'oh don't spank your kids, reason with them without harsh discipline'-BULLCRAP! That's why we are in the mess we are in with these knucklehead, thug children!

An Old School Kid born and raised correctly since 1966!

All this nonsense will end when parents step up and become PARENTS and teach their kids how to be responsible, have discipline, love and the fear of God in their lives.
Parents need to start laying wood or leather to that backside at an early age and a lot of this 'thuggery' and foolishness will end quickly.

A Kid from 1966 to present!

A well armed public would solve this problem. You see this kid robbing someone, you shot him dead, you not only remove him, but others will see "if I rob someone, they might just shot me". Of course it could be argued that the robbers would just become more violent but that is happening anyway.

We've tried the approach of "he's had a troubled youth and upbringing, he's from a single parent family, he needs to get his life in order". This kid should be tried, convicted if guilty and put away for life. He has no respect for the life of other people. He has no ethics or morality and worse yet no civilized standards. He;s a thug, a punk and he's had his chance. Either life in prison or let him break into an "armed" home and someone just blow him away. Personally, I'd prefer he be put in a room with a blackbelt and let the blackbelt rip him apart bit by bit!!!!Sorry for the draconian attitude but I'm sick and tired of these punks ruining life for others!!!

There is no rehab for someone like this. He'll be back on the streets soon doing the same thing. Someday he is going to kill someone (if he already hasn't) - if it's a family member of mine, I will sue the city and our DA for every penny for letting this pig thug out of jail.

What is it with Charlotte?

I moved away to another state far away, where this Demario guy would have still beeen locked up for his priors.

Charlotte's dirty little secret is that it's a crime-ridden city, even in the upscale areas like Ballantyne and Quail Hollow.

People often ask "what was Charlotte like?" Many offer that they've heard it's a great place to live.

I tell them about the drug-related murder one block from my house, in an expensive neighborhood, that occured the night before I moved away for good.

I tell them about the gutless DA's office, and how political correctness trumps public safety in Charlotte.

The much lower crime rate and considerably lower state and local taxes in my new home make my decision to leave Charlotte look better all the time.

Too bad the female store employee didn't have a concealed carry permit.
