22-Year-Old Arrested for Defrauding Credit Union

AR-160529694Police have charged a 22-year-old man after he defrauded a local credit union and three people.

Eric James Jordan has been charged with three counts of uttering a forged instrument, four counts of forgery, and two counts of financial card fraud. Seven of those counts are felonies.

According to police, Jordan falsified one check from a woman’s account, forged three other checks from a couple’s account, and wrote a check from her personal account that was closed.

All of the accounts were with Carolina Telco Credit Union, court documents show.

He has also been accused of earning $2,000 from the scam, which took place between Feb. 9 and March 8, arrest reports show.

Jordan was arrested and held on Sunday night in Gaston County Jail. He was released before dawn on Monday on an unsecured bond.

The Gaston County Jail website shows Jordan is a Orange Park, Fla. resident but arrest warrants list his address on Canada Drive in Dallas.
