3 Injured When Shots Rang Out In A Crowd Celebrating The 4th

grier heightsCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said someone shot into a crowd of roughly 100 people that had gathered to celebrate Independence Day in the Grier Heights neighborhood Thursday night.

Emergency crews were dispatched to Oak Arbor Lane at the Grier Park Apartments just after 8:30 p.m. for reports of shots being fired into a crowd.

When paramedics arrived they treated three gunshot wound victims.  Two of them were rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries and the third was treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Police have not released any suspect information and are continuing to investigate.
