CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested three teens in connection with three assaults and robberies of victims attempting to purchase items from Craigslist over the last few weeks.

Police say 15-year-old Chris Daquan Bennett, 19-year-old Deonte Stitt and 21-year-old Tadarian Lindsey were arrested by officers in the North Division.

On three separate occasions, police say the suspects assaulted and robbed the victims as they arrived at the agreed upon location to purchase cellphones through ads they saw on Craigslist.

Bennett has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of common law robbery, two counts of conspiracy to commit common law robbery and larceny from auto.

Lindsey was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, common law robbery and conspire to commit common law robbery.

Stitt was charged with two counts of common law robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit common law robbery.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
