3-Year Old Removed From Gaston County Meth Lab

belmont meth labBELMONT, N.C. – Officials in Belmont are investigating after a tip led them to a meth lab at a home Wednesday. They say a 3-year-old boy was also at the home.

Around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday Belmont Police, along with officials from the Department of Social Services responded to a home on Gaston Avenue Ext after they were given a tip that there may be methamphetamine manufacturing at the location.

Investigators said that evidence at the scene supported the claim.

A 3-year-old boy was taken into DSS custody from the scene.

An adult male and an adult female were detained by police, but it is unclear if they have been charged.

Officials say the State Bureau of Investigation and the Belmont Police Department are still investigating the incident.
