6-Year Old Boy, Teenager Both Injured In Double Shooting

tape bullet holesCHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 6-year-old boy was shot in a double shooting Friday night in north Charlotte, according to police.

The second shooting victim was a 17-year-old boy.

Both were shot in the leg and are expected to survive, officials said.

The shooting happened about 10 p.m. in the 8500 block of University Station Circle.

Investigators said there was an earlier altercation between the 17-year-old victim and several people.

Those people returned to the scene and began shooting at the victim, striking both him and the 6- year-old.

The shooters attempted to drive away, but officers observed the vehicle fleeing the scene and stopped it.

Five people from the vehicle were arrested and taken to police headquarters to be interviewed by detectives.

Detectives were not searching for any additional suspects Friday night.
