Man Fires Shots Outside McDonald’s, One Goes Into Restaurant

mcD_GastoniaSomeone fired shots at an SUV at a Gastonia McDonald’s Sunday and one of the shots went into the restaurant, shattering a window.

The shooting happened at the restaurant on East Franklin Boulevard, which is close to the Eastridge Mall.

Police investigators don’t believe anyone was injured in the incident but are still searching for people who were inside the McDonald’s when the shooting happened.

Police are also trying to determine the number of people there at the time, as many of them left before officers arrived.

The dark-colored SUV was near the drive-thru of the McDonald’s around 10:40 p.m. Sunday when a man outside shot at the SUV four or five times.

One of the shots when into the McDonald’s where several employees and customers were inside.

Police said the SUV then drove off into a neighborhood located behind the McDonald’s.

It is believed by police that the man who fired the shots ran away. They are seeking any information that can be used to identify the man or the people who were inside the SUV.
