Three Suspects Arrested in Providence Road Robbery

RashaunRossThree men have been arrested in connection with a Wednesday robbery outside of a Providence Road apartment complex in south Charlotte.

According to police, the victim’s cell phone was robbed in the 5800 block of Grand Canal Way.

When police were at the complex investigating the cell phone robbery, they said another person came up to tell them he’d also been robbed on May 14 in the same place but hadn’t reported it.

Soon after, police said they saw someone who matched the description of the suspect in a vehicle with two more men. Each man was taken into police custody.

The three men were Jeremy Norman, 23, Derek Montgomery, 21, and Rashaun Ross, 23, all of Charlotte. Each was charged with drug offenses and robbery.

Norman was jailed on bail of $32,000, Montgomery on $31,000, and Ross on bond of $25,000.

Normal also possessed a firearm when he was arrested and is a convicted felon, police said.
