Police Seek Man Who Robbed Two Charlotte Hotels

druryincidentA suspect of two armed robberies Thursday night that happened within an hour apart is being sought by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The first robbery occurred right before 8 p.m. Thursday at the University City Drury Inn and Suites, police said. An employee was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second robbery occurred 40 minutes after and within half a mile of the first. It was connected to a shooting that happened at a hotel close to North Tryon Street and W.T. Harris Boulevard, police said.

The suspect went into the Roadway Inn located on West Sugar Creek Road and demanded money after brandishing a weapon, according to police.

Officers have described the suspect as a black male, later 20’s, and around 5-feet-10-inches tall with short dreadlocks and a thin build. He was seen last wearing camouflage shorts and a red t-shirt.
