Rock Hill Police recovered a stolen truck after it was taken while the owner was in the woods using the bathroom early Monday morning, they said.
The vehicle owner had pulled his Toyota Tacoma off to the side of he road in the 2800 block of Dave Lyle Boulevard around 4:45 a.m. to take a nap before driving on to York, the police report shows. At 5:35 a.m., the victim woke up and went into the woods by the side of the road to relieve himself.
The victim then heard his truck being started up as someone was driving away in it, police said. The personal belongings and wallet of the victim were also in the vehicle, he told police.
Around 9 a.m., the truck was recovered in the woods located on the 600 block of Red River Road, police said.
