Dallas Police Arrested 3 for Meth Possession

AR-160509938Dallas Police found two men smoking meth after officers conducted a traffic stop on Saturday.

An officer conducted the stop after they saw a driver’s license plate come back with a violation, Dallas Police Chief Allen Scott said.

The driver was a convicted felon, Justin Chip Riddle, 29, of Dallas. He was driving without a license, according to Scott.

Police also reported finding a .32-caliber revolver, two stolen firearms, and a semi-automatic handgun. Riddle said the vehicle and the weapons were property of Michael Houston Jewett.

Riddle told officers there were people at a home who could confirm the story, so they followed him to that house. Police arrived to see two men heating methamphetamine in a jar and smoking it.

Riddle, Jewett, and Cody Elijah Crews were arrested. Crews had allegedly been smoking the drugs with Jewett.

Police charged Riddle with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. He was held in Gaston County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

Riddle has been previously convicted of drug possession, burglary, and larceny and breaking and entering charges.

Police charged Crews, 29, of High Shoals, with possession of methamphetamine. The Department of Corrections website shows no prior convictions for him in North Carolina. He was released on bond set at $5,000.

Jewett, 26, of Charlotte, is facing an inhaling toxic vapors charge. He was released on an unsecured bond.

Jewett had been arrested for breaking a domestic violence protection order in Gaston County in April.
