Two people are accused of stealing electronic dog collars totally $800 from a Cabela’s store in Fort Mill, the York County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to a store employee, a man had entered the store on Sunday and put several of the collars in a turkey lifting rack box, then taped the box and gave it to a woman to purchase at the checkout, the report shows.
The rack box was only worth $20 but it had $800 worth of the electronic dog collars inside.
Police confronted the woman who purchased the box. She told officers it was her friend’s idea and that she, a friend, and her boyfriend had done the same thing “several times” before, police said.
Police charged the woman with shoplifting. There were no other arrests made.
