A Gastonia woman has been charged after assaulting a teenager with a brick and a knife.
The incident happened on Rankin Avenue about 4 p.m.
Qwashala Shante Dawkins, 19, of Rankin Avenue, used an 8-inch carving knife to stab a 17-year-old boy in the hands and arm. She also allegedly used a brick to hit the victim in the back of the head.
Dawkins was arrested around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dawkins has been charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and jailed on a domestic violence hold.
