A Miami woman who had a confrontation with a police officer while holding a toy gun outside a courthouse was taken into custody.
According to a hot dog vendor outside the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, the woman was pointing the toy at the policeman and his car just before the confrontation happened Friday morning.
The woman ignored Miami-Dade police Officer Yolanda Everett’s orders for her to get on the ground as she pointed a taser at the woman.
The woman was identified as Indira Maricela Pedemonte-Elhimany. The toy gun used had an orange tip. She was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
