Police Arrest Rock Hill Mother Found Passed Out in Car with Kids

unnamedPolice have charged a Rock Hill mother with child abuse after they found her passed out with her three children in a car that belonged to someone else on Sunday, police said.

Dequanna Chantee White, 33, has been charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. She was held on a $3,000 bond in the Rock Hill city jail, records show.

The owner of the Toyota Camry that White was found in called authorities about 1:30 a.m. The owner said White was in the vehicle with her three kids without permission, a police report shows.

White was passed out in the car’s front passenger seat of the car and her children were asleep in the back seat.

Police woke White and attempted to get her to leave the car. She then started using profanities toward them in front of her kids, according to police.

The officers asked White several times where she planned to drive with the kids and she kept responding that she’d been drinking.

The children were turned over to the Department of Social Services after police had determined an “unreasonable risk of harm” to them was created by White.
