Dallas Police Urge People Not to Dress as Clowns

ar-161028153Police in Dallas are encouraging teenagers and adults to not dress like clowns during the Trick or Treat on the Square event the town holds each year.

Dallas Police Lt. Robbie Walls said police are trying to make sure the night is safe for everyone and children aren’t scared when they trick or treat.

The event takes place on Monday from 5-7 p.m.

In the last couple months, police departments in all areas of the country have gotten reports of scary clown sightings, some with weapons like a knife, hammer, or axe. Although many of them are part of a prank going around the country, many have still been left with fear about it.
