ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A Buncombe County man has been arrested and charged in his wife’s shooting death.

Deputies said Friday that 36-year-old Mack Glisson had been arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.

Authorities had been looking for Glisson since Wednesday morning, when his wife was found dead by the couple’s children inside the family’s Alexander home.

The couple’s two daughters, ages 13 and 7, were asleep in the home when the shooting happened but apparently were not awakened, according to the family’s neighbor.  The girls ran to that neighbor’s home shortly before 9 a.m. and reported their mother was dead.

“They woke up because they expected to go to school, and when their mom didn’t go wake them up, they went and found her”, the neighbor said.

When police showed up on the scene the found that thirty-four-year-old Crystal Glisson had been shot to death.  Mr. Glisson was nowhere to be found.

Mr. Glisson’s court date has not been set and so far no information on a bond.  The couple’s children are in the custody of Mrs. Glisson’s parents.
