IRON STATION, N.C. – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing at a home in Iron Station on Saturday night.

Deputies responded to a home in the 4800 block of East NC Highway 27 around 8 to find a stabbing victim lying on a front porch swing, bleeding from a wound to the stomach.

Officials say the suspect was inside the home, but had locked the front and back doors, denying deputies entry into the residence.

When deputies made it inside, the suspect, 28-year-old Justin Trey Brown, of Iron Station, was found in the living room with the knife lying on the floor next to him, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Brown told authorities that he and the victim, 24-year-old Samuel Justus, Jr., of Lincolnton, had gotten into an argument over a car and money, when things escalated. That’s when, officials say, Justus was struck.

Justus was taken to CMC-Lincolnton, and then airlifted to CMC-Main for treatment.

Brown is charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was booked in to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $20,000 bond.
