Armed & Dangerous Man Being Sought In West Charlotte Murder

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are looking for a man in connection with an early Sunday morning shooting in west Charlotte.

CMPD says one person was shot at the intersection of Berryhill Road and Marlowe Avenue around 4 a.m. Sunday.

MEDIC transported the victim, 32-year-old Jose Luis Rivera Veda, to CMC Main where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified William Moreno, 41, as the suspect in Veda’s murder.

CMPD says Moreno should be considered armed and dangerous.

Moreno is described as a Hispanic male who stands about 5-foot-8 and weighs about 165 pounds. Police say he goes by the aliases Alex Posada and Leon Estven.
