ALBEMARLE, N.C. – Police arrested a man they say robbed a grocery store at knifepoint and led them on a high speed chase just before 8:30 a.m. Friday.
Robert Gallimore III, 29, is charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony flee to elude arrest, resisting a public officer, failure to stop and other traffic violations.
Charlie’s Grocery and Produce owner Alfred Waisner says the man robbed him and ran off. Officers located who they believed to be the suspect, later identified as Gallimore, driving and attempted to stop him.
Gallimore led police on a high-speed chase for nearly two miles before coming to a stop back at Charlie’s Grocery store.
Gallimore received $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 27.
