Arrests Made In High-Priced Drug Investigation

Police in Cornelius will be releasing more information later on this week about a major drug investigation that may have reached several states.

Tuesday night officers searched two upscale homes near Lake Norman. This came a few hours after a brief high speed chase on Interstate 77. According to police, two cars were involved with police in the chase. A black Dodge Challenger reached speeds of more than 100 mph; police backed off and that car got away. But police were able to stop the second car, a BMW. Police aren’t saying what they seized from the car, but it appeared to be stacks of cash and other possible evidence.

After the chase, a home on Rio Oro Drive was locked down. A fleet of luxury cars were found- Mercedes Benz, a Jaguar, and a Maserati were just a few of the cars mentioned. Police also found a new Bentley at another home on Harken Drive. One neighbor in the community said there have been several expensive cars at the home over the last six months.
