Attempted Murder Charges For A Woman Who Hit 2 With Her Car

crimeROCK HILL, S.C. – A Great Falls woman has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after police say she intentionally struck two people with her car Sunday afternoon.

Officers with the Rock Hill Police Department responded to the 700 block of East Black Street around 4:45 Sunday to find two victims, a male and a female, sitting in the driveway of a residence.

The victims told officers they were walking on the sidewalk when a woman who is known to them struck them with a burgundy Honda Accord.

The male victim said he was struck by the car’s side mirror, and the rear tire ran over his leg.

The female victim reports she was struck, then thrown by the car.

The male victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police say the female victim had a mark on her leg, but declined transport to the hospital.

The two victims and three other witnesses told officers they had all been at a friend’s house, and that the suspect had been drinking and using drugs. Upon their leaving, the witnesses stated her driving became erratic and unsafe; that’s when the group had the suspect drop them off.

One of the witnesses told authorities that the suspect stated she was going to kill and run over the male victim.

The name of the suspect was not released by police, but warrants indicate she’s charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
